Growing up amidst the narrow alleys of Basantapur, I was surrounded by centuries-old architecture that spoke without words. The tiki jhya — those intricately carved windows that adorned every traditional home were more than just wooden frames; they were stories etched in timber. They witnessed generations pass by, festivals unfold, and prayers whispered through flickering oil lamps.
Each window carried the soul of our ancestors a symbol of protection, artistry, and belonging.
It represented the deep bond between craftsmanship and culture, between identity and imagination. And it is from this essence that Tiki: Jhya was born.
Meticulously handcrafted, this pendant embodies more than just design it holds emotion, memory, and meaning. It's an ode to Basantapur's artistry and every artisan who continues to preserve our heritage through their hands and heart.
Tiki: Jhya is not just jewelry, it's a reminder to stay connected to where we come from, to carry our culture proudly, and to find beauty in the stories that shaped us.
Because when we wear our heritage close to our hearts, we carry generations of strength, love, and identity within us.
We chose to launch this piece on the auspicious day of Vintuna, as it marks the beginning of the Newari New Year a day when the Newar community celebrates with a vibrant rally that starts from Basantapur.
Euphoria Nepal celebrating heritage through craftsmanship, blending modern touch with Nepali soul.
